PATTERN DICTIONARY - KOJI TSUNAGI
KOJI TSUNAGI
Koji-tsunagi (工字繋ぎ) is a pattern in which the kanji character 工 is arranged diagonally and regularly, and is one of the traditional Japanese patterns that bring good fortune called Kissho Monyo.
The 'tsunagi' pattern, which repeats a basic design, continues without end, and thus has the meaning of continuing for a long time without interruption.
Koji-tsunagi has been used since ancient times in the design of kimonos and crafts as an auspicious pattern that represents the prosperity of the family and longevity.
